YRA REYBEL - BEST BOOK Calendar 2010

On the other page, I told you there wouldn't be an official Yra calendar, but in truth, what this meant was that there wouldn't be a regular Yra calendar. This year, Yra surprised us by releasing the BEST BOOK Calendar 2010, a COMPILATION that brings together 4 of the best pics from previous albums. It also includes a poster-calendar and additional information with some pretty good images, interviews, trivia, and other details. Here's part of this Book.

**INTERVIEW IN THE BOOK**

**S:** I've been looking forward to us meeting.
**Yra:** Thank you very much.
**S:** I've listened attentively to your songs again for this interview. Reybel's music is already familiar to me since I often listen to your songs.
**Y:** Oh, really?
**S:** I'd really like to know what energy you emit, and besides, you're also producing your books.
**Y:** (Laughs) Yes.
**S:** You're using a lot of energy to produce your art. I thought maybe it means you're living and expressing yourself to that capacity. I'd like to hear about those things from you today.
**Y:** Great.
**S:** Well, to start, can I ask you for your date of birth?
**Y:** Yes. October 24, 1983.
**S:** I understand that you were born in the city of Puerto Plata. What's it like?
**Y:** Well... how is it? It's a beautiful place, although we live away from the central part of the city.
**S:** Are you an only child?
**Y:** No, I'm the eldest of 4 children.
**S:** Do you remember what your father and mother were like when you were a child?
**Y:** Well, they are my parents. (Laughs)
**S:** Difficult to explain? (Laughs)
**S:** What is your oldest memory? Would you tell me specifically?
**Y:** My earliest memory is about a school trip to the beach when I was about 5 years old, my first trip to the beach. I liked the feeling of the waves on my feet and the sand blurring under my fingers. Before that, I was scared because I didn't know what to expect, but two teachers took me by the hands and showed me. At that moment, I truly opened my eyes; it was like an awakening.
**S:** You awakened? Like from a dream?
**Y:** Ah, I only remember that scene. I don't remember what happened afterward, but it was as if the brain finally breathed. Since then, what happened in my life, the moments took on meaning.
**S:** Did you wake up? How from a dream?
**Y:** Ah, I only remember that scene. I don't remember what happened afterward, but it was as if the brain finally breathed. Since then, what happened in my life, the moments took on meaning.
**S:** What were you like when you were a child?
**Y:** Mmm... what was I like? I was calculating. I didn't have many friends, but my sister has always been popular.
**S:** I guess they saw you differently. How do you think you were?
**Y:** Well, if a child has common interests with another child, they'll be friends, but if not, no one cares about them, especially. Don't you think? Well, the thing is, I didn't want to be related to others too much, and I liked being alone.
**S:** Were you shy?
**Y:** Ah, no, I wasn't shy. At that time, I was already on stage; I felt more comfortable on it. I just didn't have an affinity with them; I didn't want to be with anyone around, whether they were children of the same age or adults. Nana was the only person I liked.
**S:** Listening to your story, I get the impression that your sister was different from you. (Laughs)
**Y:** Ah, she's the opposite in a good way. Hmm, I don't know the exact reason. But anyway, I remember that I had a strong feeling of not wanting to be related to me. She always did the opposite of what I did.
**S:** Haha, I see.
**S:** I understand that you started in professional music with the group Gargo. How was that time?
**Y:** I was in school, and at that time, there was this girl in some lower courses than me. I didn't like her, and she didn't like me. I really didn't like her; I've always been a difficult person (laughs). Then my sister Massiel joined the institution, and one day she said to me, "I want you to meet my new friend. She likes music, and we have a lot in common." It turned out to be Sheila, the girl I couldn't stand, and you see what happened. Then we formed Gargo, and the three of us became best friends. I wouldn't change that experience for anything!
**S:** Let's talk about your music. What inspires you?
**Y:** Art inspires me. I love art, I feel a great passion for everything called

artistic soul. I also think that someone else will listen to it, and that motivates me to want to do my best.
**S:** This doesn't just happen with your songs but in everything you do; your signature is written (laughs).
**Y:** I want to show my greatest inspiration, keep evolving, showing a dream that people can see with their own eyes and reach with their hands.
**S:** When doing something, you always think about the fans who will listen to it or have it in their hands to read or appreciate visually.
**Y:** That's right, I always put myself in their place, in a respectful way, I try to offer them something they can appreciate. I can really visualize the finished product in my head.
**S:** The image you want to convey is quite clear, and the background of your works is surprisingly in line with this.
**Y:** I want to inspire others in everything I do—music, books, drawings, photos...
**S:** There are images of your everyday self mixed with photos of this beautiful woman, right?
**Y:** Hahaha, it's definitely me in the photos, but I'm usually a hermit; I like being alone, writing or meditating, in comfortable and relaxed clothes. I appreciate that a lot in my life. I think the team has a clear line between Yra On-Off (laughs).
**S:** So there are differences between the lifestyles of "Yra Reybel" and Ysa?
**Y:** I think I fear that both personalities will merge, and I'll disappear between them. Although maybe what would happen is that I would become someone else, if that happens, I would like to become a person with more skills. But in the end, we are the same person.
**S:** Do you protect your private side?
**Y:** It's not protection because if you go to my city, surely if you find me on the street, you'll see that I'm not eccentric in that sense. It would just be me walking in the city.
**S:** I hope to meet you then.
**Y:** It would be great.
**S:** Thank you for letting us know more about you.

Yra Reybel - Diary Update - Christmas Message 2010

Happy Holidays to everyone! I hope you had a fantastic time with your relatives, as this is a time for reflection that we should take advantage of to be with those we love. (That's why I spent the holidays in front of the monitor looking at pictures of Yra, hahaha.) Well, let's get to the point, shall we? This is the blog entry from Yra's official Myspace, so here it goes:

Happy Christmas
Current Mood: optimistic
Category: Life

Hello, everyone!

Wow! This year has been intense!

I've taken another look around, reflecting on many things, and I've realized how we've evolved since last year – in the way we are ourselves, in the way each one of us is unique and special. Because every human being is essential and inimitable, like a fingerprint, irreplaceable. It's wonderful to know that, just like the domino effect, many decided to go out and make that small difference that is only possible when we venture into the world and change its course, no matter how big or small the impact, we are present...

This year 2010, let's go all out! Hoping and giving our best or even more, we are here, let's leave our mark on the hearts.

Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year!

Yra

And as always, the image of this year!
HAPPY 2010 TO EVERYONE!!!!
